Tip 1: Eat more nuts.
By eating 67 grams of nuts per day, which is a little more than 2 ounces, you can increase the ration of HDL to LDL in the blood by 8.3 percent. You should go for the higher caliber nuts such as walnuts, pecans, almonds, pistachios or macadamia nuts, and try to keep them as raw and natural as possible. However a Japanese study found that the polyphenols in chocolate activate the genes that increase HDL production, so I guess that means it ok to have some of those nuts covered in chocolate to. Yum!
