You knew it was coming, and yes its exercise. Thought we might as well get this one out of the way, and this one is the hardest to achieve simply because it requires time. But in order to have an impact on your HDL's you only need to achieve about 20 minutes of some form of exercise. And for each additional 10 minutes, you can add an extra 1.4 points to your HDL count. The activity level should have you to a point of panting but not out of breath. And of course, helping those HDL's is only one of the incredible benefits of exercise. So maybe start easy with a nice brisk 20 minute walk and see where it goes from there.
